Why I still live at home

Yes, I still with my dad! Yes I know what i’m doing with my life (somewhat, yes I’m a hot mess but that has nothing to do with this!)! People stereotype living with your parents and it’s about time I speak my mind on it! This all started with a tweet from a someone named toni! She was talking about how not all 20+ that live that home is a dependant! Which is true. She also says in some cases the family might depend on the 20+ year old! Thats where I come in! Today I will be sharing my opinion and my story on why I live at home still! So let’s get started!
First off No matter what I thinks it’s more then ok for a 20 year old to live at home! You are still just out of high school and may be trying to still figure things out! But now on to my story! My mom got sick when i was about 17ish and she got worse really fast. So I stepped up and tried to help out as much as i can! That meant cleaning, cooking, driving her and my sister around, etc. Then when i was 18 she passed away. That meant I took over what she would do! My dad worked a lot and when he didn’t work he wasn’t feeling good because of his cancer so I do a lot! I take care of my little sister, clean, cook, manages bills, grocery shop, still like that and it helps my dad out a lot! So in my case my family depends on me and that’s why i live at home! Now this doesn’t mean I don’t know what I’m doing in life! I am working on getting a degree in children’s education at a elementary level. I also have plans to get a job to start saving up for a place once things start to settle down. I know what I’m doing and I’m not a freeloader! I help my family and I will always be here for them no matter what!
I hope you guys enjoyed this rant on living at home! I just always wanted to talk about this but never know how to talk about it! As always I love you guys and I’ll see you in the next post!

  1. This is so true, there are so many people who still live at home and that is so totally okay. You get the opposite of that, me- who had to live by herself after my mom passed. Everyone has a different story and it does not mean you have to judge them Cancer sucks ass 😦
