Yes I live at Home at 21!

Yes, I still with my dad! Yes, I know what I’m doing with my life (somewhat, yes I’m a hot mess but that has nothing to do with this!)! People stereotype living with your parents as being lazy and it’s about time I speak my mind on it! This all started with a tweet from a someone named Toni! She was talking about how not all 20+ that live that home is a dependant! Which is true. She also said in some cases the family might depend on the 20+-year-old! That’s where I come in! Today I will be sharing my opinion and my story on why I live at home still!

download (5)First off No matter what I think it’s more than ok for a 20-year-old to live at home! You are still just out of high school and may be trying to still figure things out!  For me, my mom got sick when I was about 17ish and she got worse really fast. So I stepped up and tried to help out as much as I can! That meant cleaning, cooking, driving her and my sister around, etc. Then when I was 18 she passed away. That meant I took over what she would do! My dad worked a lot and when he didn’t work he wasn’t feeling good because of his cancer so I download-6-1.jpgdid a lot! I take care of my little sister, clean, cook, manages bills, grocery shop, and stuff like that and it helps my dad out a lot! So in my case my family depends on me and that’s why i live at home! Now this doesn’t mean I don’t know what I’m doing in life! I am taking online classes and managing my blog.  I know what I’m doing and I’m not a freeloader! I help my family and I will always be here for them no matter what!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments down below, Do you still live at home? As always thank you for everything, I love you so much, And I’ll see you in the next post!

  1. It takes courage that is admirable to do what you do ( and did). I think it’s so easy to assume and generalize the whole “20+” children living at home but as you conveyed here; we should not be ignorant and attach it to every single person because we truly never know what people are going through nor what they have planned in the midst of it.

I don’t currently live at home and I felt bad for revisiting the idea because for me, it was like I failed out here in the “real” world but then, it doesn’t have to be that way. I am just thinking wrong about it; you can still have ambitions and live at home. Shoo!

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
